Salvation

If you feel a tugging and a dissatisfaction with your life as you know it. If you cannot escape feelings of emptiness. You have tried varied connections and relationships trying to fill this relentless void that keeps expanding with each passing day. You have tried your last-ditch effort to rid yourself of this sick empty feeling. It gnaws at you in waves. You are just tired. You have surrendered your state of mind to admitting that you are lost in this life that is leading you nowhere.

You may have tried drugs, man after man, you have even decided to try relationships with the same sex. You drink alcohol to numb the void that manifests into loneliness. You have even misused prescription medication to help you escape the intensity of your loneliness. You are angry and lash out at those who are closest to you, even strangers have become a target for your outlet. Your search for a cure to this life of despair is endless and futile. If you can say yes and admit to any of the conditions, to continue is wasted energy. I want to help you by giving you a gift… the gift of life. The greatest gift in this life is the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” John: 14:6. There is no point in living this life in torment, then one day die, only to live tormented eternally. In Jesus, no matter what you face in life, it is so much better to face it at peace with God. “…we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1. God wants you to enter a relationship with Him as your Father and you, His son or daughter. The Bible (the Word), reads in John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The first step to peace with God and an abundant life is to acknowledge that you are a sinner who needs a savior. Also acknowledging that sin must be punished. Understand that because of sin… your sin, you are an enemy of God and through Jesus, you can become His friend and He your Father/God. Jesus Christ/God’s son, the perfect sacrifice, gave His life as a ransom for man. He took your punishment… my punishment, so we do not have to experience the wrath of God. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, so that whosoever believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16. These are the first steps to accepting the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Secondly, understanding this great knowledge and as God draws you, you will have to consciously and intentionally ask for forgiveness for your sinful choices. This kind of sorrow will bring you to a place of confession in prayer to God that you are sorry for your sins. Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Thirdly, do not worry about a feeling or some spiritual or extra-terrestrial phenomenon, just believe and have faith that you are forgiven and saved. Romans 10:13, “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Answer this: Did you ask for forgiveness for your sins? Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead and left earth to be with God waiting to return for you, me and all who believe in Him? Have you invited Him to take control of your life as Lord?  If you can say yes to all these questions. Congratulations… you are saved!!!

Finally, I recommend that you tell someone that you know who is a Jesus follower or a Pastor of a Bible teaching church/fellowship so they can guide you and walk along beside you on your journey in Jesus Christ.
