Not the Time to Quit

When we fix our eyes on the things that we see, instead of the things we don’t see (meaning the things that are eternal) is when we make decisions proven to be unwise and spiritually counterproductive. When we become weary and tired, this isn’t the time to quit or cancel meaningful, spirit building, and God honoring activities, but this is the time to press into the Lord who will give us strength. I can do all things (contentment in the press) through Christ Jesus who gives me strength. Phil. 4:13

How would we experience God’s strength if when things get hard or tough, we quit or give in or cancel? We must model staying power and the ability to tap into the Lord’s strength.

We need to be careful not to rob next generations of the ability to fight and stand. We must gently push and encourage in long-suffering, stamina and sacrificial service. This teaches faithfulness and commitment which is needed as a follower of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. We each will encounter the cost.  As I continue to grieve about some of the decisions that are being made in this world, secular and spiritual, I am reminded that man is not God. This passage encouraged me not to stop fasting and praying.

“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; in every way afflicted, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you.But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For our momentary, light affliction is working out for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”2 Corinthians 4:6–5:1

I say this to myself, “Zephany don’t faint or lose heart! These last days events must come to pass. This is the beginning of birth pains. No one is exempt from being used to ‘usher in’ last days events. My prayer is that I will remain consistently on the Lord’s side. Don’t let me wear the Lord’s jersey but out of ignorance and personal agendas make plays that become an advantage for the rival team, (the enemy of God).” I know that we know the end of the story, but why make a mess out of the ’in between’?

Praying for all leaders and their influences!

The journey flows…

  1. Thank you Zephany for this encouraging and Word centered message to continue pressing to finish the race God has called all believers to accomplish through the Holy Spirit.

  2. Amen and Amen Sis! If all we see, is what we see then all we see, is not all there is to bee seen, the songwriter said.

I want to be true to Him, and not help the enemy. Love the jersey analogy!
